Blue eyes went down in a moment of embarrassment. She tried to play it off with a chuckle. "What, that old thing? You know how territorial we ballerinas can get." It was lame, she knew it. Plus there was no conviction behind her words. She shook her head and lifted her shoulders in a small shrug. "It's...there was a bug mutant thing." She didn't both with the preamble - there was no way Jean-Paul wouldn't know about the attack. "He had poison on him, all over his talons. Got Bobby first, actually, but he iced quick enough to heal himself. Me, he tried to throw through a wall. Obviously that wasn't going to work. I ran back out and solidified to hit him but he got me first." Untying the bottom of her shirt, she lifted it up enough to show Jean-Paul the more circular and larger mark just under her ribcage.
"I was out of it for about a week. Lost my job at the studio because the owner was going to lose students if she had a mutant teaching there. Which I understand, but..." She trailed off with another shrug. "Hank said this is probably about as much as they'll heal. I can cover my face with make up but a two piece is never again in my future." In true Kitty style, she tried to turn the conversation around with a smile and focus on the positive. "But I'm currently in negotiations with Warren on him funding me as I start my own company and..." She looked at Lakota. "I have horse here who is going to give birth very soon and that's exciting."
She retied her shirt just below her bellybutton and took a breath in. "We're rebuilding. It's not fast, but it's being done the right way. Warren and Paige are working on revamping the security systems and finding the holes. We didn't lose anyone." Her smile dimmed slightly. A lot of things had changed that night but they weren't things she wanted to talk about right now. Instead, Kitty grabbed on to another piece of exciting news that she knew would come as a shock. She couldn't remember if he'd been there when Scott was still there, but either way his name would be familiar. "Scott...I don't know how to say this other than just saying it...he's alive."
