From her description, she did know Logan. Scott really didn't like the guy, and didn't have any reason to act like he did. But Scott didn't know how upset Logan seemed when he thought Jean killed him. It didn't matter. Any worry or pain from Logan was probably for her. More worried that Jean had crossed the line and killed the man she loved. It had nothing to do with Scott Summers.
When the girl explained the condition of the School, she proved much more like Logan than she knew. Never stayed around in one place for long, and thought she was too old to learn anything. To Scott, the girl didn't look much over 20. But maybe he was wrong. From what Jean had told him, Logan looked older than he was. Maybe this girl had the same deal.
When she mentioned an attack, it was really a shock. He just took it in and looked at her when she mentioned things had changed, and her name. After a long silence, he pushed himself off the vehicle and stood looking at the smaller woman. He found it funny how little she was, but how she could probably do things he never thought about. If he blasted her, she would heal before he even knew he was dead. So what was the point in even looking like he wanted trouble?
"It's been seven years since I was there." With another pause, he looked directly at her. "My memories were taken by Jean Grey." It still stabbed a little to think about her, but he was doing better. "I lived in Alaska for most of it. When I saw news of the school being hit, I remembered everything. I don't know why I did, but now I remember every detail about Xavier's School."
He walked towards her a little, wondering if she had a similar story to Logan. Logan was an animal when they found him. Had horrible past issues, and was very hard to get along with. But before Scott was removed, Logan did seem to be improving and trying to help. It even looked like The Wolverine cared about the people at the school. Scott couldn't help but wonder if this girl had the same ability to change.
"X-23 can't be a real name. I am Scott Summers. Cyclops in the old days." He huffed, walking back towards the truck. He stopped at the door and turned back to the woman. "I am heading back to the school now, X. Got a lot of demons to work out in my head. Should be there in a couple days at most. Maybe I will see you there."
He stopped at his truck door, expecting the girl to already be gone. Seemed like a Logan thing to do. But he didn't want her to always be identified as Logan's duplicate. If she did end up at the School for long, and he had a chance to talk with her more, he would have to treat her as an individual. But that was all "What If" and "Maybe" talk. He really doubted anything would come from it.
