"Well I'll take your advice on that then. It sounds like it will be more trouble than it is worth, to be quite truthful." He said as he started to daydream about how he could get a celebrity chef into his class. Oh how the kids would respect him if he could get Gordon Ramsay. Maybe if he called some of his contacts in France...He tried not to get his hopes up, but wasn't doing a very successful job of that. One might even be able to see the glimmer in his eyes. He had the fortunate chance of quickly meeting Chef Ramsay, but he doubted that the Chef would remember him. What about Paula Deen?! That would be quite a feat, but it would be more feasible than Ramsay probably. He would have to remember to make a few phone calls later. Again he tried to keep himself calm.
"Oh." Dante said, a little unsure of how to respond. He paused a moment and replied with a simple, "But chocolate can be a pretty good substitute for love." He smiled. It sounded like a joke, but he often felt that way. "A competition! That is brilliant! What do kids like now? An X-Box? Is that a good prize?" He asked. He was a kid once, but his childhood was more focused on how to fit in physically, and he didn't spend too much time with other kids because his parents wanted him to keep a low profile.
"Oh. Its where I spent my apprenticeship. I learned how to make truffles in France. It is a lovely country full of contrary people, for the most part. Its just French." He said lackadaisically. He watched, but stayed uninvolved. It was interesting to watch the two of them interact. They were like brothers, almost. Or maybe a parent with a teenage child. It was like his clone had no Ego or Superego.
Dante nodded. "It is a pleasure to meet you...Jamie." He said with a little apprehension. Dante just smiled at his last comment, but offered no rebuttal.
