When he mentioned church, Kitty shrugged slightly and sat back in her chair. "Not pious at all, really. Just searching. It's something I've been struggling with for awhile now. Actually, when I went home for the winter break I had this big argument with my mother over it. I'm proud of my heritage, what I come from and what my family went through and still struggles with. But I don't know if I believe what they believe anymore. I still feel like something is missing, you know? So when June asked me to take her to church it kind of felt like I was being given the opportunity to explore. We went to three or four before we found the one she really likes. So far it's only raised about a hundred more questions for me. But I feel comfortable there."
Their food was brought over then, and Kitty was pleased to finally be getting to eat. She was starved. "Oh my gosh, this smells amazing." Their plates were presented beautifully with the sides of vegetables and rice arranged in artistic ways special to each unique dish. Before she decided to dig in, Kitty poured herself and Warren more wine, then lifted her glass with a smile. "To good friends."
