For a fleeting moment he felt a sadness in his heart, yeah he knew how those redheads could be. Logan knew she didn't mean anything by it and wasn't trying to rub salt in a wound, but it brought up a memory, one he hadn't forgotten. "Yeah, I know how ya'll can be." He gave her a soft smile, shaking the thought away before he got lost in it.
Smirking he shook his head. "Darlin', had I done that when you were seventeen I'd probably still be in jail." Tilting his head he gave her an amused look, his brow raising. "And I'm pretty damn sure even at this age yer still pretty happy about it." This wasn't the nicest side of town and no matter how much she'd been through he still felt that need to protect her. Which was why his arm came tighter around her, holding her close to him.
"Maybe somewhere inside you were hopin' my broodin' ass would be there." Didn't happen often, but Logan was flattered. Hell, the fact anyone could miss him at all was something he still couldn't get used to. But this girl always had. He'd never forget the way her eyes lit up that first time he came back. And that look on the Popsicles face was priceless. Kinda adorable the way to little kid tried to intimidate Logan, freezing his hand. It was.. cute, if not mildly irritating. "How is Mr. Freeze Pop doin' anyway?"
Again his jaw clenched and he snorted. "Abandon... like he's gonna do to all the people there when the water gets a little too hot. Like how he abandoned Mystique just because she didn't fit into his little criteria anymore. I'd enjoy nothing more than to see him get cured and me rip my way through his intestines." Sounded perfectly fair to him. "I don't know what the hell was goin' on in Storm's head. I never thought she could be so stupid. And what pisses me off is the fact he's gonna use the Professor's school as his tool to do his evil deeds. You know that's got to make him feel like he finally beat him."
Now that got a smile from him. "Got a little more a'me inside ya than I thought ya did Marie. If you're wantin' his blood that is." Logan plucked a cigar from his coat pocket and rest it between his lips. "After what he did ya you, there's no way I could ever side with him." Logan could remember the pain he felt, holding her limp and lifeless body in his arms, just before that last little spark left in her grabbed onto him and she clawed her way back to life. If anyone knew how he felt concerning coming back to life after tasting death, it was her.
"Why work on it? I sure as hell ain't. You got me, ya always have, who the hell else could you possibly need ta trust?" Logan knew he'd never let her down, well other than the fact he never came back. But then again, he had a feeling she was expecting that.
"Stud huh?" Chuckling he rolled the unlit cigar back and forth between his lips. "Well, I got a charming little half dry-rotted, place above the fish market, overlooking the docks."
