How many times had he held this girl.. when she had been a girl that is. How many times had he nearly died for her, and yet how many times he still would give his life up for hers. Ever since she'd gotten mouthy with him in that truck so very long ago..What kind of name is Wolverine. Seemed like yesterday rather than a decade. But this woman standing here with her arms wrapped around him, body pressed against him through the layers of clothes she wore, was not the same girl that had softened the Wolverines heart.
His massive arms wrapped around her and lifted her off of the floor, holding her close. The last he'd seen her she'd been cured, but Logan had his ways and had kept tabs on her. He knew about New Orleans and her occupation. Hell, maybe she had always retained a little of him since she gravitated toward dives like that. Holding her so close he tucked his head a little against her hair and inhaled deeply. Still the same scent and that made him smile. He chuckled at what she said, a rumbling growl from deep inside his chest.
"Don't remember tellin' ya that ya were allowed to grow up." It didn't escape him the men that were leering at her, even though she was covered up. Though she did choose some awfully tight clothes to cover up with. The fact she was so covered up only meant one thing. He knew it had been a possibility when the others started having the symptoms, but he'd hoped and even prayed for her that it wouldn't happen. With a heavy sigh he hugged her tighter. "I'm so sorry darlin'." He dropped a kiss on her forehead where her hair was covering as he set her down.
His hand reached up and he let his fingers trail over the silken streak of white. He'd always kinda liked it, even if it was that bastard Magneto's fault she had it. Logan led her through the crowd to where he'd been sitting before his fight. Grabbing his shirt he tugged it on over his head and pulled it down before reaching back and pulling his long hair through. "Wanna get outta here?" As he waited for her to answer he shrugged his jacket on. The blond from the table was still watching them with a pissed off look on her face. God he hoped she was smart and stayed where she was, last thing he needed was her trying to touch Marie over some stupid fit of jealousy.
