There were times, much like this one now, where Paige wondered if coming to the school was a good idea or not. Sure, she'd wanted to follow in her big brother's footsteps. And sure, she wanted to be a bad ass fighter for mutant rights. Yeah. In an age like this, the more you loved something, the more you had to fight for it, right? But then while you were fighting for your end, there were always people fighting against it. Simple minded douchewaffles who sought to wipe you from existence simply because you were different. It was something that Paige would never understand.
On top of that, the school wasn't safe for multiple reasons. It made her antsy, unnerved. And it wasn't something that retali therapy was going to be able to help with. Hell, all the extra time she was spending in teh training room wasn't even helping, and Paige had pretty much run herself down into the ground multiple times over the past couple of weeks. She could play optimistic and cheerful when it came to her friends and cheering them up, but she kept the rest of it to herself. She beat it out of herself in an effort to perfect her skills... to take the thoughts from her head.
Running a hand through her hair, Paige made her way into the kitchen to grab a snack before setting off on her round of training for the day. To her surprise, Logan was standing there drinking a beer. She blinked and cocked her head to the side a little. She'd heard plenty about him from Rogue and Kitty, though she'd never properly met him. Now seemed to be as good a time as any, right?
Grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge, the country born blond took a breath and watched him for a moment before speaking. "You're Logan, right?" Once again, she was masking that Kentucky accent, trying to cut down on what could be picked on about herself.
