She couldn't help but smile again at his words, though the humor didn't get as far as her eyes. She liked how close he sat. The warmth from his body was comforting. Had Remy not pulled out his deck of cards, Rogue would have reached over to take his hand in hers since they were both covered enough for the contact. Instead, she kept her eyes down and listened to him speak.
Her explanation was not an easy one and she shook her head. "I got no real answer, Remy." For a long moment, it seemed as though that would be her only answer. But a sigh passed her lips and she finally looked up again, back at the wall across from her. "If I had known things would turn out this way, I'd probably have never called you after that first night we met. Then again, I was so damn attracted to you. Still am, but..."
She tucked her hair behind her ear and turned to look at his handsome face, a half smile making an appearance. "I got an apartment in town. I can't stay here with magneto here. And after the fight Ro an' I had...just don't feel right to stay. Besides..." Rogue licked her lips. "I'm losin' myself, Remy. Every minute that passes, I lose a little more. I'm startin' to forget who I am and who I have been. Can't tell the difference between what really belongs in my head and what doesn't." She shook her head. "For awhile I was just angry all the time. Like, seriously pissed off. I know that was Logan. Now it's like I'm just apathetic, an' I don't really know what that means. I don't know what's comin' or how it'll effect me. I don't want to be here to have the one man I hate most in the world see me self-destruct."
