She was pretty much all packed now, just sitting in her room on the made bed and staring at the wall across from her. Her face was expressionless and her green eyes blank. Even when Remy spoke and caught her attention, Rogue turned her head to look at him as though trying to remember who he was for a moment.
"Remy." The way she said his name gave nothing away, but he'd probably have noticed her struggling just a second ago. In an effort to cover, she offered a tired smile. "I know." She looked down at her lap. For some reason, he'd been the one person she was avoiding saying goodbye too. Like if she just left without the words being said it wouldn't be real. Not with him, anyway.
With the three boxes on the floor waiting to be carried down to her car and the way her room was so nondescript, it was obvious what she was doing. "C'mon in. Gimme a good tongue lashin', though it won't be the kind we both wish it could be."
