Kitty smiled in sympathy. "For every religion and denomination there are at least three different churches within reasonable driving range." She shook her head. "No, this should be your decision. Tomorrow, after my classes and when you have some free time, we'll Google some of them and read their mission statements. You'll find one that sounds good to you. Then we can go and check it out, and if you decide you don't like it, we'll try another one."
She listened to June as she explained about how the bible had become her only constant, nodding. It made sense, especially since her life was so chaotic and unpredictable. A lot of people turned to religion for something to hold on to. She smiled fondly when June mentioned the notes, trying not to laugh. "That's good. It means you're actually getting something from what you're reading. Any place we find that you like should be happy to answer your questions."
Rolling back over, she picked up the book and thumbed through it. "Okay, let's get reading. it's late, and we both have class in the morning."
Kitty began the fifth chapter, slowly remembering exactly what was happening. By the time the chapter was finished, she looked down to see June asleep. With the book closed, Kitty kissed June's head, placed the book on the nightstand, and turned off the light.
