"Oh, that's right! On Dark Avenue or something?" Kitty started to flip through the pages to find where they'd left off, wondering where her bookmark disappeared to, when June stopped her. She looked at the little girl quizzically. "You want to go to church?" Out of all the questions June could have asked her, that would have been one of the ones she would have least expected.
"Of course I'll bring you, and I wouldn't just leave you there." She set the book aside so she could roll on to her side as well and face June. "What made you decide you want to go to church? I never thought you were religious at all." The issue brought up her own feelings on the matter. it also reminded her of the conversation she'd had with her mother over the winter break. Not an all together pleasant memory, but maybe June was an answer to an unspoken prayer.
"You know there are different denominations, right? Like, for instance, my family is Jewish. Lorna is Catholic. There's Baptist, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Evangelical, Pentecostal... there are many choices out there. All of them believe different things and teach different things. Is there a specific church you had in mind, or were you just thinking of church in general?"
