For a minute, all she could do was stare at the tiny robot. She'd seen a lot of advanced technology at Alkali and since, but nothing as sentient as this. Even if it was the creation of someone who had intended to use it for ill, it was impressive work. She even gave a soft laugh as WARLoCK demonstrated how easily he could flip someone off. "If I ever wanted a pet, it would be one of those." Although having a pet had never even crossed her mind before.
"I'm Laura, by the way."
Impulsiveness was not a thing she gave into easily or very often. But Nathaniel's comment about her using her number and not her name stayed with her. It actually repeated itself in her mind anytime she met someone new and gave them her number instead of her name. Giving someone her name felt more human, and she wasn't sure if she liked it.
"Come on, we're pretty close." She was feeling a little awkward now, sharing something she felt was so intimate with a stranger. He seemed nice enough, even had sort of a naive air to him, but it was still a little uncomfortable for her. "When was the last time you had a decent meal?" Looking at him from the corner of her eye, she added, "I've been on the run myself before and know that good food doesn't come easily or often."
