She had a sense of humor in there somewhere, she knew she did. Otherwise, why would other people's pain amuse her as much as it did? Doug's comment about repelling people with his smell garnered a small smile in return, one that was more polite than anything. He was too clean, that was the thing making her doubt the legitimacy of the reason he offered. And if one thing could be doubted, the entire conversation could be questioned.
"I can understand wanting to just get away." For a minute back there, she would have told him about her own experience of being in captivity. Now, though...now she was hesitant. "There are plenty of other assholes to track to around here, I'm sure. It would be foolish to think the people who attacked the mansion was just some vigilante group. Their scent is still all over that place. I can always look for where they came from." And since she'd gotten her hopes up about a track and kill mission, maybe that's what she would do.
When Doug stopped, she stopped as well, raising an eyebrow slightly. Dark, carefully blank eyes watched the lines form on his arm and the watch move. Her expressionless face now registered soft surprise. This was truly a rare moment for her, since surprise was not a thing she got to experience at all. "That...that's amazing." For once she just looked like a girl who was pretty impressed with what the guy she was with was showing her. "Did you create him, or did they?"
