Who in the world indeed? Magneto must be insane. That's what Doug kept telling himself as he muttered insults at the cold and snow made his way toward the burned out insides of the Mansion. All the preparations had been taken care of for this - Doug and all his clothes and what possessions he'd take with him had been thoroughly cleaned to scrub off any scent. There were plenty of people there who had the heightened ability to track a person or figure out where they'd been just by smell alone. Magneto had been very clear that they were not going to be tracking Cypher back to him.
Doug had spent the last couple weeks hacking in and placing bugs in various government systems. Nothing detectable because they didn't do anything but watch and record - no disruptions and datapacks were sent out when the various facilities and departments sent out their own updates as scheduled. So he'd been spared a lot of description on what the place would look like when he got there outside of 'expect some damage'.
Most of the lights were out, save for emergency ones. There was plastic over holes in the wall that could have been windows at one point and the whole place gave off this vibe of being completely re-built. Some damage his ass.
Grumbling and muttering every curse in every language he could think of, Doug approached the door and knocked. His eyes weren't very good, so he continued to knock as hard as he could while searching the edges of the door frame for a doorbell. He really hated the cold.
