Either this guy was one something or his mutant power was the ability to be a complete and absolute spaz. It was rare to find someone who left Ororo grappling for words, but at the moment she was coming up with nothing to say in return. There was no hint of sobriety in him, though it could very easily have been part of the way he distanced himself from others and from what had just transpired. Still, she didn't bother to hide the odd look she gave him when they were in the elevator together.
His question actually gave her a smile and Ororo crossed her arms. "Nothing about this night was for the faint of heart. Besides, I like to know who comes and goes from my school. We're a family here and, as the head of that family, I intend to do all I can to protect them."
Ororo had a way about handing veiled threats to people. They could easily pass for casual conversation, but if a person was astute enough they could see what was really hiding in the words. She didn't know this man from Adam, yet here was was in the mansion. The only real thing he had going for him was that he'd helped them out. It was her trust in herself that allowed her to bring him below. Should things turn foul, Ororo had an intimate knowledge of the sub-basement and knew she had the upper hand. Of course, she was also praying it wouldn't come to that. There had been enough carnage here to last a lifetime.
The doors slid open and Ororo stepped out, motioning for Deadpool to follow her down the hall. "Hank?" She called out. "Are you down here?"
