"You can have him," Jamie offered easily. "I think he'd enjoy me beating him down too much." Was that a dig at the younger man's sexual preferences? Possibly, even though they were unfounded. People at camp had made a lot of jokes about John and Magneto. It was a hard habit to give up when the environment provided ample opportunity for it.
Stopping to watch, Jamie smirked. "Fully prepared." And readied himself for the worst. An earthquake, a shock wave, a mental invasion, nothing would catch him off guard. When Tabitha formed the balls, he figured they were balls of energy and was sufficiently impressed. But then she threw them and made him explode. That was definitely cooler than just energy balls. "Very nice," he complimented, looking at the lovely holes in frozen ground.
His stomach rumbled loud enough for both of them to hear, making Jamie grin sheepishly. "It's been awhile since I've eaten." Which, for Jamie, meant a couple of hours. But with duplicates always popping up and needed to be reabsorbed, he was using a lot more energy than a normal person would, sending his metabolism into high gear.
