Re: a little bit later...
Remy's eyes remained on Marie. Didn't even give a hint of wanting to look away as the sound of Emma's feet came up behind him or her voice as she spoke calmly. His reply was delayed by Marie's very odd little speech.
"Stay quiet for minute,," he murmured to Emma as he crossed his arms and leaned casually against the nearest wall, smirking as if the fire didn't matter. His eyes glowing a little as he locked them with Rogue's.
Gambit's next words were directed at Marie, as flirty as they'd ever been, intent on charming her, "Can't go now, petit. You got me all hot n' bothered wit that little speech of yours. Teasing a man like that ain't fair. First ya tell me that Xavier be a man you look up to and dese people all like family to you, invite me across a quarter of the States to join you at a mansion party - which I have to say, I am very disappointed it was not de Playboy palace you made it out to be - and now you saying you dun care if they die and that I should leave you all by your lonesome..."
He scratched his chin, as calm and cool and collected as could be, "Got me thinking this little show of yours," his hand came down so he could swirl his index finger at the fire, "ain't really you..."
Gambit's grin widened a touch, voice still playful, still full of that charm he relied on in tight situations, "You don't have to hide behind anger, ma chère. Why don't you stop this fire burning in the hall and come here so I can stoke that fire in your heart, hein? There's no need to keep all this destruction going."
