Re: a little bit later...
Emma made her way to the first floor. The police were coming, and it made sense to her that she be outside and able to help correct their opinions on exactly what was going on, and exactly what they should do about it.
The floor was fairly calm. She wasn't happy with so much bloodshed and carnage in the school itself. After her experiences with the Massachusetts academy, this was all far too familiar to her, and it hurt her to see it and think about it. She would not be letting on to anyone that she was feeling that way, but it didn't stop her from feeling it.
She was surprised by the boldness of the girl masquerading as a student. Better homework should have been done before launching an attack. "Oh dear young lady, this won't do one bit." The shifter, in the form of the student thought she was getting away with something, but Emma continued. "I certainly have no need for two of you at this school." At that the girl turned into a bear and reared up to attack, vastly looming over the other woman before stopping in it's tracks and looking about as surprised as a bear can look.
"I have no use for a bear in this school either, but you know that doesn't mean you are without use..." Emma fiddled about almost casually inside the girl's head until figuring the trigger and controls used by the girl's shape change ability. "What I think I would like, however, is a kitten... a playful loving adorable kitten who is just crazy about me... I think we will work from there." The woman, the mind, inside the bear was in terror before she was just no longer in terror anymore. She wasn't capable of it. What she was, was an adorable kitten. Emma experimented with several looks before deciding that a small white shorthair was what she wanted.
She picked the kitten up and petted it. "Welcome to the family, dear." She said as she petted it gently and and surveyed the rest of the floor.
She was able to feel distress from the woman called Rogue, but her mind was a particular challenge at the moment. She made her way to the woman, who was not alone. There was a man with her who was an annoying jumble of static to her. She didn't believe the man to be an intruder.
"Does she need medical attention?" Emma asked. The kitten in her hand mewed and looked lost if that is an expression a cat can actually affect.
