The thing about lightning was once you saw it, it was already too late to react to it. It stung and left her skin humming. But it wasn't the insane amount of pain because it was quick, over fast and then without thinking about it she bled it off. The smell of toasted cotton was a familiar one too, but there wasn't enough of it to actually get her clothing to leave her.
Her hair didn't even stand on end, but the metal in the room, and there was actually a lot of it, charged and floated given everything a faint greenish glow.
Huh, she thought, That's new.
There had to be something she could do to keep from getting repeatedly hit when what stuck in her head was the image of the lightning balls they sold at and liked to put into science museums. Only a bit larger, was all. She didn't even know if it was possible and decided for safety's sake, the first bubble was going to be around herself.
She didn't think she could kill herself with magnetic energy after all, and this person didn't seem to be completely aware of what was going on. And that rambling was eerily familiar.
