Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road Who: Cypher and Scorpion, OT Magneto, Mystique When: When this is posted Where: The New Brotherhood's abandoned building SUPER AWESOME SEKRIT HIDEOUT!!1!!11 What: Minion-y things.
Since hooking up with Magneto, Doug had been given a roof over his head and plenty of food. The 'roof' was, 'officially' the abandoned Riverside Hospital on North Brother Island. From all outside appearances it, and the other buildings on the island, were still abandoned and desolate and overgrown by the vegetation. The interiors, however...
Well, he might look up to the man, but he couldn't give Magneto credit for his skills at interior design. It was all harsh metal metal lines and hardly a scrap of cloth to be found to make it seem welcoming. Magneto was probably the only one who could find it at all inviting or comfortable. At least in the lower levels.
The girl, Carmilla, had been there first from what he could figure out. And Magneto moved in after because of it's convenience. He was pretty sure that was the case. In any event, Carmilla had laid claim to a few rooms in the upper levels and those hadn't been converted the way the main areas had been. If Doug had any confidence in his ability to do renovations, he would have picked out a few for himself and done the same.
Perhaps the only thing that made staying on the island bearable was that their leader had ensured the whole place was wired like WHOA! Complete access to the outside world through some of the most advanced tech Doug had seen outside of a certain government facility - and he'd happily been the one to tweak the whole system to make it run a lot more "silent".
But today... today Doug was bored and feeling the ennui that often settled on 17 year old boys... and for the first time in a long time he could act on it and just be 'normal'. So he made his way into Carmilla's territory and when he found her, he flopped himself down in the nearest empty chair and huffed loudly, "This place sucks."
