It was fun to listen to all the accents even if she couldn't make out much of what was being said. It made her miss Piotr and her parents all at the same time. Though the last time she'd seen her mother, the encounter hadn't ended well. This was only a reminder of part of the reason she and her mother were at odds.
As the man in front of her ordered, she smiled to herself and tried to pick out words Pete had taught her. None were recognizable, but still enjoyable to hear. When the man turned to move aside so she could order, he surprised her by addressing her. To see Magneto standing there was a shock to say the least. "M...Erik." She caught herself in time, unable to hide her surprise at seeing him as well as the shock that he should even recognize her.
The man behind the counter made an impatient noise and Kitty turned quickly. "I'll have what he's having," she said with an incline of her head toward the older man. Turning her attention back to him, she searched for words. The last time she'd seen him, he'd been the enemy. Now, seven years later, he looked like a tired old man. A tired old man who, any day now, would get his abilities back. if they weren't back already. She brushed her hair behind her ear and asked politely, "How are you?"
