"You're not an easy guy to be with?" Rogue shook her head, brows drawn together. "Bobby, I took you for granted. There ain't a lotta guys out there who would'a stayed with someone they couldn't kiss, couldn't touch, really. You were a diamond in the rough then an' I'm sure you still are." When he touched her cheek, she lifted her hand to cover his. "Whoever is lucky enough to pin you down, she better realize what a good guy you are. Else she'll have me to answer to."
As she turned to face the memorials, Rogue took Bobby's hand from her face and held it in her own. This was a place full or emotion by itself. Add to that everything else she was feeling, she needed the contact. She didn't say anything for awhile, just looked at the three stones. Scott was the one who'd saved her from Logan's burning truck after she'd run away from home. Jean had been one of the most caring and compassionate women she'd ever known. And the professor..."One of my favorite memories of the professor," she said quietly, "was the first time I met him. He sat me down in his office, made me tea...talked to me like a human' bein'. He made me feel like things could actually turn out okay." She squeezed Bobby's hand and looked over at him. "I bet I'm not the only one he did that for."
After another long moment of silence, Rogue let go of Bobby to step forward. She ran a hand over Scott's stone, then Jean's. At Xavier's she kissed her fingertips before pressing them to the cold granite. "For a man who did so much for us, it seems like this monument should be bigger."
