Rogue bit her lip and nodded, looking down as Bobby spoke of his family. "I'm real sorry, Bobby. It ain't right, any of it. I guess I kinda hoped it'd be better for you by now. Wish I could'a made them see back then how great you are." She knew he'd played an integral part on Alcatraz Island and always assumed being something of a super hero would endear him a bit more to his family. It was sad to know that wasn't the case.
It wasn't too surprising to know a lot of people were showing up. Xavier's had always been the safest place for mutants. With Ororo there, that hadn't changed. "Yeah, Ro said somethin' about flare-ups of powers when they return." She frowned. "It's gonna get a whole hell of a lot worse before it gets better. I'd bet my life that the guy at the bar is not the only one who's gonna try and do whatever it takes to just end it. It's gonna get messy." She sighed quietly. "Dunno how long I'll be able to help, but I'd like to so long as I'm here. Don't wanna be a freeloader."
Had she mentioned Remy? A small smile turned up the corners of her lips. "New friend," Rogue explained. "He was gonna come up here with me but family stuff came up." She still lamented that fact. it would have been nice to take the long drive up with him, though he promised they'd catch up soon.
"Hey, you wanna take a walk?" Yes, it was cold outside but not freezing. And she wanted to move. She wanted to be able to walk with Bobby and just let the conversation flow naturally.
