Clothing appearing and disappearing as his mind tried to find a memory that fit the situation and pull Laura's thoughts into it - and coming up short.
His appearance flickering, the room flickering as tedrils of thought reached out to the girl's mind and connected and disconnected in a directionless haze. Nathaniel stood there utterly confused, unable to reconcile the then and the now. Too many memories were missing, too many blocked.
