"Surgeon, genetisist, gynacologist, general practition," he rattled off quickly and in a manner that spoke as if the titles were merely words that meant little in the grand sceme of things. Which, of course, they did. "There is a story behind your words, child. Numbers are not given to children who are meant to be raised happy and free. Numbers are given to prisoners and experiments, those who are others are trying to remove any sense of self and free will from them."
Nathaniel looked over his shoulder and raised a questioning eyebrow at her, "Surely such a willful young girl like yourself would choose to have a name and not a number."
A smirk followed and then he was entering the building and heading over to the front desk. He had no reason to think she wouldn't be fast on his heels as he set his bags down and checked in. Asking for two room keys and that his daughter's name - Laura - be put on the check in slip should one of the keys be lost. And yes, he was aware the room he had only had one bed and that they didn't have any with two and why else did the buffoon at the desk think he paid for the room with only one bed instead of looking for one with two?
Ten minutes later he picked up his bags and moved across the lobby, a key ready to hand to Laura as he made his way to the elevator. Waiting until the door closed to continue, "I'll be heading upstate later in the week. There's a school - Xavier's - that have members in residence that I believe will be able to help me with my current issues. Have you heard of the place?"
