It was New Year's Eve, and it was cold. Theresa had rummaged through all her clothes in order to figure out something appropriate to wear, but it was hard to look fancy when your primary objective was to stay warm. So rather than go for glitzy-glamour, Terry aimed for an outfit that would suit her mask.
The character she decided to go with was a peacock - the plumes were gorgeous, and it allowed for some flexibility when dressing to match. She wore an emerald-green fine-chorded silk sweater with a peacock blue scarf draped lazily around her neck. A rusty-brown suede skirt which hit just above her knee served in place of her usual dark denim, followed by matching blue tights and rusty-brown leather boots stopping a few inches short of the knee. Emerald earrings belonging to her mother were worn on each ear lobe, and a little bit of shimmering lip gloss served as an extra-special adornment for the occassion.
She walked into the gymnasium where the decorations were certainly all-out. Theresa grinned widely, beaming at the spectacular job the faculty had done. It certainly made up for the wacky Christmas events that had transpired not even a week before.
She looked around for a familiar face or two--then realized that it probably defeated the purpose of being in a mask. Maybe I should be adventurous and mingle with those I typically don't... She mused merrily, and headed over to the sparkling punch.
