There was this weird urge to just reach out and take LJ by the shoulders, make her stand still. If the girl had been anyone else, someone without a mutation that warranted her moving all the time, she probably would have. Instead, the folded her hands together over her dress. "Thank you for the compliment. How come you didn't dress up?"
It looked like the food table was where everyone was deciding to head first, and that was hardly a surprise. Kitty would get there eventually herself, but for now she was content in greeting people as they came in and making sure people were comfortable. So far it was just students. Hopefully some of the teachers and older occupants of the mansion would show up as well.
Her attention was momentarily drawn away from the girl when she saw Threnody enter with someone that was impossible to recognize. "Oh my," she said quietly. Threnody's costume was weird and amazing at the same time. And whoever's arm she seemed attached to was...bold, to say the very least. Who in the world would wear an orange tux like that? And why would they wear two masks that just clashed so very badly. In a minute or two she would have to make her way over and greet Threnody and her...friend.
