Vic grinned around his food. "My dad complains about how they should still do it. I guess they did for a while again when I was really little, but I don't remember it. And then he gets going on the last drive-in theater in the area closing and how everything's going to hell."
Vic shrugged. "I mean, going to a drive in movie was pretty fun when I was little and all, but they weren't making any money so they closed."
And it wasn't like he was every going to have gotten the benefits that kids his current age tended to like about drive ins, namely all the privacy in the cars. Not back home, anyway. Being gay probably would have been bad enough on its own there, add in being gay and a visible mutant and the odds of him ever getting a date were somewhere between slim and none. Even around the mansion he figured his chances weren't all that good, but at least there was lots of eye candy...present company very emphatically not excepted, though he was almost as emphatically not indulging in looking.
