"I totally is," Vic agreed solemnly before grinning and shoveling in another mouthful of noodles.
"Wolves," he supplied, when Mr. Beaubier finished talking about animal over-population and un-American Thanksgiving salmon. "It's not just that we're taking up all their space, it's that we've killed off their natural predators in most places." His dad could rant on the subject forever, especially when he got on the reintroduction of wolves. "Then there end up being too many of...whatever, deer or elk or moose...and hunters are all 'we have to control the population for its own good." He grimaced. "What we need to do is let nature do its thing, and eat our factory farmed, hormone and antibiotic riddled turkey with American pride." He nodded once, emphatically. "Or, y'know, our totally un-American Cajun salmon."
