"I can see you tryin' not to laugh at me. Go on, have a good chuckle." Thinking back on it now, it really was fairly amusing. it felt like ages ago and another lifetime away. Had she really ever been that scared little girl who followed orders from other people and had to work up to being independent? Turning her attention fully back to him, Rogue laid her head on the back of the couch and smiled. "Remy Lebeau, are you flirtin' with me?"
It had been a long time since she'd had a moment like this. men in the bar were constantly trying to pick her up with smooth talk and crappy over-used lines. No one had ever wanted to have a real conversation before, at least not anyone she knew wasn't going to be out the door the second he got what he wanted. She didn't know Remy well enough to be sure he wasn't exactly like every other guy she'd encountered down there, but she hoped he was.
"I hadn't really thought that far when I invited you," she admitted. "If it was just me I'd stock up on coffee an' energy drinks an' hightail it on up there." But if they were driving together, maybe she'd want to stretch the time out a little longer. "I bet learnin' how to do it right would make me less scared. The problem lies in actually gettin' there. If you can teach me without my havin' to get in a big flyin' Titanic and keep me on the ground until I feel better about it, I'd be all yours." There was laughter and very slight innuendo in her words so it was clear she found the entire thing amusing as well. To a degree.
"When I left Westchester before, I took the bus an' it was hell. So uncomfortable, people gettin' on an' off. I would never do somethin' like that again. Plus, if there's somethin' you wanna see on the way you can't exactly yell at the driver to stop." She shrugged her eyebrows. "Well, I mean you can but they don't really like people doin' that sorta thing." Growing a litle more serious, Rogue reached over and laid one of her hands on top of Remy's. In a softer voice she told him, "I just gotta keep checkin', if that's all right with you."
