He was so relaxed about it, and that made her nervous. Rogue wet her lips as though she were concentrating and took a steady breath in. Her hand slipped easily to his...and nothing happened. She looked at their joined hands with skepticism before bringing up her other hand to wrap around the other side of Remy's hand. Still there was nothing, and relief flooded her body. It felt like her shoulders actually detached themselves from her ears, and she laughed. "Nothin'." Looking up at him, she couldn't help but grin. "Nothin' at all." Nothing along the lines of absorbing his powers at any rate.
Feeling her cheeks grow warm, she let go of him and scratched at an itch that did not even exist at the back of her neck. "Looks like I don't have to worry about total body coverage just yet. Thanks."
The wind was not letting up and Rogue noticed how it was bothering Remy. "Got somethin' in your eye? It's gettin' pretty chilly out here. I didn't even check the weather this mornin'. I don't live too far from here if you want to get out of the wind. Get whatever's in your eye out. Have somethin' warm to drink."
Did that sound as awkward as it did in her head? To hide her embarrassment, she looked around the cemetery , pulled loose strands of hair from her mouth that the wind insisted on trying to make her swallow. The mourning family had already moved on and it seemed as though they were alone now. "Feel free to turn me down. Forgot what today was again." As she turned back around, her smile was fake but she was trying to hide how ridiculous she felt.
