She had half a mind to tell him to call her Rogue. If her powers were coming back and she headed up to New York, it would be something she'd have to get used to once again. Instead, she gave him a half smile and said, "Marie." Only Logan had had the privileged of her real name up to this point. Her parents didn't count because they were family. She was never just Marie with anyone who wasn't blood related until she met Logan. Now she was sharing it with someone else. "I think I'd like it if you called me Marie."
A cemetery was an odd place to meet with anyone unless you were coming together as that family had, to mourn someone or share memories. Rogue liked the cemetery for the dark beauty it possessed. There were so many different headstones and inscriptions that it was impossible not to be entranced in some morbid way, at least that was the case for her. She slowed in her walk, straying from the path to pass through rows of older headstones. Moss covered the crumbling and weathered stones. They were particularly interesting.
"Didja ever wonder about the people buried in these places, what kinda lives they led?" She crouched to run her fingers over the impression of a name and the dates. "Xavier's got a headstone at the mansion, along with two other people we lost. It's really beautiful." She nodded her thanks about Wayland, sighing. "He was a lousy drunk but when he was sober, he was a good guy."
Standing again, Rogue looked at Remy as the expected question came, just not in the way she'd expected it. "Increasingly," she admitted heavily. "My mutation was that I could take things from people just by touchin' 'em. Mutations and memories, mostly." Smirking slight she added, "Sometimes personalities if the contact lasted long enough. Before I got the cure it was impossible to touch anyone. I'd feel this tingling, like a sort of electric current. Then I'd know stuff, remember stuff that I shouldn't, an' I could do things I could never do before."
Taking her hand out of her pocket, she looked at the band-aid. "When he was takin' my blood I swear I felt it comin' on, but then Ro cleaned me up an' nothin' happened." She tucked stray strands of hair behind her hear distractedly. "I can't sleep anymore, though. Every time I do, I see somethin' from somebody's past that I shouldn't. I never told Ro, but that night after the fight, when I slept I was that mutant. I felt how much he loathed himself." Her tone dropped. "Still feel it. It's like this want for it to all end because you hate yourself so much." Rogue shook her head. "I felt like that before, an' I'm not sure I wanna go back there."
