"Marie...Rogue...guess I got a slew of names now." She tilted her head a little, smiling softly up at him. Her expression hardly changed when Remy explained what it was he did for the professor. In fact, if anything she smiled a little wider. Sounded like a thief by description, but one that Xavier obviously trusted. Whether or not Remy knew it, that alone spoke volumes about his character.
"One of my favorite things about the professor was that he could see the potential an' all the good in a person, even when they couldn't see it themselves. If Xavier trusted you, I know I can too."
She started walking again, hands in her pockets. He hadn't yet asked about her connection to Xavier, though figured he'd guess she was a mutant. At some point if it was mentioned she could have to correct his assumption. "Ro came down here to check on me. She's been hearin' about other mutants whose powers are comin' back. The mutant that night - when he was talkin' about evolution an' all that, I'm guessin' what he felt after the cure wore off was more than he was expectin'."
Up ahead, a family was gathered around a headstone, arms around one another and talking quietly. Rogue went silent as they walked by, the family not even looking up as the two of them passed. When they were far around away, Rogue glanced over her shoulder. They had a service for Wayland up on the other side of town the other day. he was my customer that got killed that night. The three guys that were bein' controlled were there. They stayed back a ways, but I'm pretty sure it was them. I was gonna try and talk to 'em after but they hightailed it outta there soon as the service was done."
