Standing at the ceiling to floor glass wall in what was now his living room of the Penthouse of the Fairmount hotel, Alexus stared out over the city that was now his. So far everything was going according to plan. Well, almost everything. He hadn't figured in the wild card he had met when trying to play nice with the Ulfric of the city. And when Mina had stalked into his territory, and dropped the dead messenger of peace at his feet, Alexus realized he hadn't thought of everything. That was when he knew he had to have her. Maybe it was because she reminded him so much of his lost lover, or maybe it was just her attitude which was so refreshing. Either way, it had become the start of the dance they were involved in now. The dance between the two, the undeniable attraction that pulled at them both, coupled with the knowledge that both wanted something else from the other. She wanted information from him for Leighton and he wanted information from her about Leighton. And although he knew where her allegiances were, he didn't care.
Marcus returned from his errand. He knelt, down on one knee his eyes lowered as he spoke. "Master, I told her you requested her company." Alexus didn't bother turning around as he answered his servant. "And how did my little firecracker answer my request?" Marcus swallowed hard before he answered, as if he feared his answer would upset the Master of the City.
"She said she would come sometime. When she is ready." Alexus smiled, his sensual lips curving up in a wicked amused smile, but Marcus couldn't see it. Alexus didn't answer the man and Marcus seemed to think this meant he could voice his own opinion. "I told her that you wouldn't show her mercy for her defiance." At this Alexus had an answer.
"So you, Marcus, thought you could speak for your master? That you alone knew what I would do, how I would think?" And still Alexus didn't turn around, the only sign that he was annoyed was the warmth growing in his voice. Marcus seemed to realize his misstep and tried to back pedal.
"Master, I only meant to convey that you don't like to be kept waiting." Alexus still didn't turn around, the only movement was him bringing his wine glass of blood from his side, to his lips. In the reflection of the glass he could see Marcus had been getting to his feet, but had dropped back down to his knee. Alexus could sense Mina as she came up the elevator, her energy vibrating ahead of her.
"Get out." Alexus commanded also without turning around. Marcus did just that, bowing as he did so, backing out of the door. The door shut with a soft whisper leaving the Master of the City to stand alone looking out over his city as he waited for Mina to stalk through his door.
And she did just that, throwing open the door and sauntering in. Alexus could see her reflection in the glass and turned to be sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. Mina was wearing a dress. The silk and cut of the dress made him think of lingerie and he couldn't help the smile that curved on his luscious lips. Her long elegant neck was exposed as her hair was pinned up. The pale lavender of the dress looked amazing against her warm skin.
"The wait was worth it," Alexus greeted her as he crossed the room to kiss her on cheek.
