Mina sighed at the sudden development, already knowing who it must be. He never stopped. Pushing herself off the couch, she crossed the room, still barefoot. Without saying a word she walked out, the door clicking shut behind her and stalked past the guards and to the elevator. The anger at Kane was steadily returning, burning in her chest as the elevator began its descent, each obnoxious DING bringing her closer to her dramatic boyfriend. The elevator doors opened and there he was, waiting for her. Mina looked less than amused as she stepped out. Her voice was no-nonsense and irritated, "What are you doing here, Kane?"
"Bringing you home," he answered. "This has got to stop. They are not our allies. They are our enemies!" With every word, he punctuated his feelings by gesturing the people milling about the lobby of the hotel. "You and I are going to talk to Leighton, there is no reason for this to continue, Alexus isn't stupid, he's not going to tell you anything. He's going to manipulate you and it's not going to help the pack like Leighton thinks." His blue eyes were flashing with anger, hurt and jealousy.
"Come on Mina, this isn't you," he said his voice filled with disgust. "A puppet for a vampire, some pet."
Mina's eyes flashed in warning. She stepped forward and her size made her no less intimidating. "Call me a pet...one more time." She took another step forward, the predatory grace so inherent in her making her stalk towards him. "And let me understand your point of view. You...are actively defying the Ulfric." The smile on her lips was a dangerous one, the look of a wolf before it attacked. She was Geri and it was her duty to enforce the Ulfric's ruling. "Is that what you're saying?"
Kane wouldn't back down. "Mina, I know you're the Geri, I'm the Bolverk. I do the dirty work Leighton doesn't want to get her pretty hands dirty doing." He knew that talking like that about the Ulfric was not a great idea, especially to Mina, but his anger and desperation was making him irrational. But he tried a different approach. A more personal one. "First I had to compete with your love for Leighton, for how loyal to her you are. You put her above anything for yourself." He took another step towards her. "Now I have to take yet another step down on your level of importance to be second to a...a...a vampire? And not just any vampire, the Master of the City, our biggest enemy!"
Mina watched him, taking occasional glances at the vampires watching the scene so avidly. As he began his tirade on earning her love, her eyes widened. Love? Leighton would not be pleased at such a ridiculous display right in the main lobby of the vampire hub. "I'm done with this conversation, Kane. Leave." She turned her back on him and stalked back into the elevator.
"Mina, please," Kane started, ignoring the looks of the vampires. As the elevator opened and Mina got into the elevator, Kane followed her, slipping into the elevator as the doors slid shut. Mina had already pressed the button for the floor she was going to. "This can't continue," he stated as he hit the stop elevator button and rounded on her. "We need to talk. I'm not ok with this. I'm not ok with you sleeping with him, or anything like that." He reached out towards her. "The thought of him touching you..."
