His smile was still firmly in place as he listened as she explained her favorite novel. he didn't find her answer cliche at all. In fact he was more impressed that she had actually read the old novel. Most of the girls he met talked about Dracula cause they thought it was cool but they knew nothing about it. He laughed softly as she stammered and covered her face. he lifted the hand that held her to his lips and gently kissed her hand to bring her attention back. When she fell silent again his grinned at her.
"I don't think so." he told her, the sincerity clear in his voice. he held her eyes for a long moment, the silence between them meaningful. he was barely aware of what he was doing when he rolled to his side to close the distance between them. he caught her lips with his in a gentle sweet kiss. He had never had a kiss that felt more perfect. it last only a moment before he pulled back. He didn't want to overwhelm her too much.
"I think it feels like a date." he smiled at her. In fact he had never been on a date that was going as well as this was. He felt like he knew her better in the time that they had spent together than he knew any other girl he had dated before. "I don't like the word cliche. it feels like another way that society is trying to tell what they should and shouldn't like. Like what you want to and don't worry what other people think."
"as for me. My favorite is Kurt Vonnegut." he smiled as he easily picked up the thread of their conversation without missing a beat. "Sirens of Titan is my favorite of his books."
