"It's not a problem Donevon," Ryder answered easily. It hadn't been. If it had been, he wouldn't have hesitated to tell the other man so. Ryder didn't have much a filter and anyone who worked with him, even once or twice, knew this. "I was taking care of a pest problem earlier, was just kicking back with a beer." As the man continued to explain what was so urgent Ryder couldn't shake the feeling his life was about to take a twist on the more complicated side.
Following the other man down the hallway, Ryder nodded as he spoke, explaining how this DO had gone so very differently then the rest of them. The frown that marred his brow at the description of the event showed he was as concerned at the violence that the officer described. "What are you reckoning caused this DO to go so wrong on their end?" he asked. "Was the female the only one they had dropped off? Was she the reason the men were being so aggressive?" He was concerned that maybe there had been another more violent offender that had fought back. Although the amount of drugs normally in the system of those dropped off was enough to keep them knocked out for hours. The charm the Fae had worked for the island protected both the island the the new comers from being harmed.
Ryder didn't even blink as Evon told him he had taken the men out. If he had his way, anyone who brought these people over should be shot on sight for adding to the problems here and back on American soil. If you weren't part of the solution, you were part of the problem. As Evon unlocked the door, Ryder raised an eyebrow at him, when he said he might know her. But no thoughts in his head prepared him for who he saw through the two way mirror.
"Fuckin' hell," he muttered as his dark eyes took in the familar, although OLDER face of his niece Aspyn Stark. Running his hands through his face and then covering his mouth with his hand, he sighed. What had his sister done to her daughter to get her shipped HERE of all places? She couldn't be more then...seventeen was it? "Fuckin' hell," he cursed again, his anger at his deadbeat sister welling up inside him.
"That's Aspyn Stark," he said, a statement, NOT a question. "Where the fuck is her mother?"
