Xavier pulled away from Ro at the sound of her voice. He looked at her with confusion in his eyes. “Only one? Like… in the past year? Or only one ever?” He wasn’t sure how anyone could live like that. One person in their entire life time? Who did that? He gave a little shake to his head. “I can’t believe you.” He kept a tight hold on her but he had pulled away far enough to look at her face to face. “So… you are saying that you don’t want to have sex with me because you have only ever been with one person? I was pretty sure that we had gone over this back at the bar.” He wasn’t hiding the annoyance that he felt. He really didn’t want to have to fight with her again. He just wanted to have sex and grab a beer. Maybe have a cigarette too.
“You know that being Queen brings certain responsibilities… right? When I told you that you would be my Queen that meant you would have to take care of those responsibilities. If your mother was Queen I’m sure you learned all about that. Now if we need to have the talk I can explain it all over again.” His voice had gone low, a growl in the back of his throat, his eyes narrowed slightly. He was trying his hardest to be patient this time. But really it wasn’t one of his virtues.
