Makayla watched him silently as she sat across from him on the blanket, carefully trying to avoid kicking sand onto it as she did so. There was something genuine about him, despite what she had seen that first night when he was with the blond. She found herself smiling at him as he pulled out the wine. "Please," she acquiesced. She wasn't much of a drinker, in fact couldn't hold her alcohol very well, but she did enjoy an occasional bottle of wine. Averting her eyes just briefly as he pulled out the synthetic blood, she purposefully looked back up at him, trying not to let it bother her. He was a vampire after all, and it would be better than if he sat there staring at her while she ate.
"They avoided you?" she asked, taking the glass of wine from him and swirling it lightly in the glass to release the flavor. "Were you really so strange, even then?" she teased. Bringing the cup to her lips she inhaled the sweet aroma before placing her lips on the glass and sipping. Lowering the glass she looked at him thoughtfully with her pale eyes, "What were you like? Before you were turned?"
