"Truthfully, I did it for me too," he admitted as he sat down on the picnic blanket. "I never had a real first date with anyone." He held up a hand. "I know, you don't believe me, but its true." He crossed his heart. "I didn't date when I was human, people actually tended to avoid me." He reached into the basket and pulled out a bottle of wine, white wine.
"Would you like some?" He didn't want to assume she would. He also pulled out a bottle of synthetic blood, which looked just like red wine, and poured it into his own glass. "Sorry if that totally freaks you out," he apologized, "I just figured it would be better then sitting here, staring at you with an empty glass."
