Makayla jumped slightly as a voice sounded behind her. She had been so lost in her own thoughts she hadn't heard the bell jingle to alert her Cyrus had entered. "Er...sometimes," she smiled at him, her hand poised over the last lightswitch. He handed the flowers out to her and she looked at him a minute, a strange expression on her face, her lips parted. No one had given her flowers before. "I...thank you," she said taking the flowers gingerly from him.
She didn't have any vases so she went behind the counter and found a giant plastic cup from a nearby fast food restaurant. A quick glance inside showed that it was empty so she blew on it and then fetched a bottle of water from the mini fridge and poured it in. As she placed the sparkly display in the common household item, she felt a bit silly. She shrugged, not entirely apologetic about it.
Glancing back up at him she smiled and then rejoined him, flicking the light and casting them in darkness. She knew her way perfectly around the store, even in the dark and took his hand in hers, leading him back towards the front door. The last part of business was to flip the closed sign around in the door window before she locked it behind them.
