Startled from her reverie, having been so lost she hadn't heard the bell chime. A smile tilted the corner of her lips as he spoke. "A man who reads anything but a skin mag in this day is a rather rare occurrence. Even rarer that he can quote Ovid so beautifully." Her gray eyes crinkled in a smile as her eyes slid up to him, closing the book in her lap with her fingers marking the page.
When her eyes caught sight of his face she hesitated. He looked so familiar...she'd seen his face before. Yet she was also sure she had never met him before. She also knew he was a vampire, and she could feel the familiar stirrings of unease in the back of her mind. The fan once again blew across her skin, raising goosebumps along her neck and sending her scent wafting towards the stranger. Glancing back up at him, the light caught his eyes. He looked so much like....no, that wasn't possible. Makayla cleared her throat briefly as she slid her legs off the counter.
