The End of an Era; Hideki, Gendo, & Marcus Lombardi.
Gendo had admittedly had little idea about what was going on at 4 A.M. when he was awoken by a crash, which he might have even tried sleeping through, except that it was followed up by his partner in crime (literally), and so though he was bleary and out of it when he got into the shower, by the time he got out - though still very tired - he was, at least, a little more awake and aware. Not awake enough to really think more of the rearrangement of his apartment than, 'Oh,' and to simply ask if Hideki was ready to go, which was probably a good thing. However, by the time they were on their way, he was awake enough to be feeling excited and maybe a little nervous. Best laid plans... well, they didn't always go perfectly. He thought perhaps Hideki was thinking something similar, given his quiet sobriety. Gendo didn't really mind, since he, too, was quite happy with focusing on what they were planning to do.
As Hideki checked the map, Gendo checked the equipment, making sure each piece was in place and order, giving some parts a last minute clean, just to make sure, and checking their ammunition supply. He looked up as Hideki spoke. He hmmed quietly to himself as he considered the question. Admittedly, he wasn't the fastest runner, but he thought, at least, getting from one side of the building to the other would be a simple enough task. "Shouldn't take too long," he replied carefully. "Though I'd appreciate as much notice as I can get. Maybe we should set up in one of the middle rooms," he added after a moment. "At least, that will make it that much faster to arrive at the necessary side." They could guess and maybe get lucky, which would save time, but Gendo was leaning more towards relying on a practical set up rather than fortune, even if it was said to favor the bold, and their work today was /exceptionally/ bold...
