Greenway Park - 8:15 PM.
This was getting tedious, and Dan frowned.
"Yes, I saw the parade. A client of mine was very interested in the festival, and asked I attend with him--his parents raised him in a very Irish culture, and since parting ways with them, he's been more and more interested in expanding his knowledge of the world." It was clever, but Dan said it as if he was bored, because he was. He really wished she would get to the point.
"And as much as I would like to help you with your investigation, I believe you have the evening off, don't you? And is there a reason you aren't spending it with your children and husband?"
Implying she was a bad mother was well and good, but Dan thought that Imogene was probably thinking that enough, herself. He wasn't curious. She was here on business, and the fact of the matter was that she was wasting his time with her roundabout questions--ruining, for the moment, his little slice of comfort in this place.
"I think maybe you should go find them. Children without mothers often turn into criminals." He offered a humorless smile and inclined his head. "I'm sure you can find me if you need me, Imogene." He began to walk back up the path, away from her.
