Greenway Park - 8:15 PM.
These people were so tiring. Imogene was tired of chasing them all around town, only to turn a corner to find a dead-end. They laughed and mocked her, most likely, for she was never the one not to give a chase, but it was certainly frustrating when people were running circles around you in the town you were supposed to be protecting. Imogene wondered if the existence of all of them was marked against her as a failure.
She merely listened, to the rhythm and sound of his voice as her gaze went out to the pond as well. Did she think the pond was beautiful? Perhaps. She didn't have the leisure to think things were beautiful or how great it was people decided not to mess things up. She was always running, running, running, and never stopping.
"My children are fine," Imogene smiled at this, at the memory of her twins happily marching off, hand-in-hand with their father, leaving her behind to look at their backs. "They did, in fact. An unfortunate turn of events, but nonetheless, they enjoyed it as much as they could."
She sighed as her cellphone one again rang angrily, as if ignoring the electronic could only insult it even further. "And you, Dan?" Imogene wasn't looking at him now, reaching into her pocket to pull out the phone and look at it. She returned it to its place. "Did you make it to the parade, as well?"
Her gaze went back to him now, devoid of all emotion, only expecting an answer. Whether or not she would decide to take it as the grain of truth was something Dan wasn't privy too. If it came to it, she would see him at the station soon and she would ask all she wanted answers for.
