keichi Hearing the gratitude from Maiyuki was indeed a gift and it left him smiling. "You are very welcome. I thought the flowers would fit your kitchen too." With a wide boyish smile, he looked over to her and nodded, closing his right eye fully. Then the phone rang. Quite loudly at that. With a groan, he looked towards Maiyuki, and lifted out the phone and looked to it, muttering. "Thank Buddah." Flipping the phone open, he kissed her cheek and looked away, a bit perturbed. "Moshi moshi?" Pretending for only a moment that it was a real estate call...even if it was a Saturday. Listening in for the voice on the other end, he pressed the key on the side of the phone to turn the volume down. He wasn't going to let Hideki's voice filter out of his phone for anyone else to hear.
hideki Time for a pick up, if you're still offering, and you'd better still be offering," Hideki said, scooting toward the genkan as his mother continued to come at him. His side was giving him a little trouble, but the last thing he wanted was to stick around for his mother to lecture him, question him, and make him feel guilty about living. Again. He really should cancel her cable subscription. The fact of the matter was, the woman didn't really need the television, and Hideki was just letting her use it out of the goodness of his heart. No one wanted to watch the news these days, anyway. "Like I said, I'll be on fourteenth." Had he said fourteenth? He was now. One foot slipped into a shoe, and then another.
maiyuki Her peace of mind was interrupted when his phone rang and her eyes narrowed in irritation. But what really got her is when he simply kissed her. Uncaring that he was on the phone, she wound her arm back and punched the side of his arm, hard, before rising to her feet. "Mood killer." she snapped as she grabbed her bags, taking a few steps away from him. She didn't need to hear his conversation. "You're the one who wanted this, yet you ignore me," she spoke mainly to herself, refusing to look back at Keichi sitting on the ground.
keichi "ITTA!!" groaning at the punch on his arm, he grimaced, listening to Hideki on the other end with a sigh. "Yeah, coming now, sir. On my way." Clicking the phone shut quickly. He stood, and tapped Maiyuki on the shoulder and cleared his throat. "Mind...if I can make a rain check for today? Business calls. You need a ride?" He was half hoping she'd say yes...God he wanted her to say yes, but then again, he didn't want her to know exactly who he was picking up. Perhaps things would be pieced together, and his life/side-life would be revealed. Right now though, this was Hideki, and his loyalty laid there. Standing up and licking over his lips slightly, he slid the phone in his pocket, stepping up beside his friend...that he utterly wanted for himself...without any royalties or guilt. He wanted her. Period. And this day was possibly even harder than anyone he's killed, anything he's done. This was Maiyuki. Hideki was family though, and that mattered.
