Greenway Park - 8:15 PM.
Imogene observed Dan, in all his sereneness, and knew that even with the stillest of lakes, one ripple was enough to shatter all calm. She looked away then, towards the pond, and studied the shadows that were cast over the surface of the lake. She, in all honesty, did not want to even begin thinking about what had happened today, but she supposed she was the one who brought it up in this conversation. Perhaps this was the time to actually think about the mess that one death had created.
"Fireworks, hm? They were nice, I suppose," Imogene felt the longing of drinking something strong and that could knock her out in the next few minutes, but that wouldn't be at all good for her reputation. She supposed when she went back to her office, she could just put her face in her hands and scream out of frustration.
She smiled crookedly at his nice question, her throbbing pulse in her head coming back at full force because she was reminded of it. "I suppose you could call it a break. It's not much of a break when one keeps bothering you about work," Her eyebrows raised at this, as she expected Dan to fully know what she was referring to.
Her cellphone made an all too high pitched sound, which she quickly disposed of it by tucking it back into her shirt pocket, but not before glancing at the screen. She expected to be harassed by reporters soon, wanting an answer, one that she wasn't quite willing to give. They were all vultures, anyway. "And you, Dan? Enjoying yourself tonight? Or perhaps running away from the commotion of it all?"
