The End of an Era; Hideki, Gendo, & Marcus Lombardi.
Gendo especially wasn't impressed by the congratulations. Not that he thought Hideki was being insincere or anything. Only, it didn't sit well with him given the mysterious injury his boss had sustained. "Thanks," he finally sighed after a moment, knowing there wasn't any way to win this one. He was as likely to be caught looking for Hideki without knowing where he was than anything, so he was simply going to, yes, go to one of those places where /he/ went to lie low when necessary. Which was, actually, just going to a safe house to stash the unused weapon - just because he liked to be tidy about these things - and then going home for a proper shower and to try to sleep until he was contacted again, though he felt a little like that was a pointless venture. Still, so far, it looked like they'd pulled this off with little to know problems, and as long as his partner in crime pulled through fine, he was chalking this up to an extraordinary victory for their group.
"Just don't bleed too much," he said after a moment as Hideki hinted at where he was going, trying to keep his voice light. "And tell her 'hi' for me." He gave a little sigh as Hideki closed communications and took the transmitter from his ear, unpinning it and carefully tucking it into his pocket - it might be very useful later, after all - before stepping out of the building and strolling nonchalantly up the street away from the parade.
