Re: The End of an Era; Hideki, Gendo, & Marcus Lombardi.
If nothing else, Gendo was swift and efficient, and he had the gun put away in only three-quarters of the time it had taken him to set it up. He said nothing, holding on a second, as Hideki had bid him, as he closed the case, snapping it shut, and stood, taking it in hand. He peeked out the window again, eyes narrowing, as Hideki asked about the cops. "Looks like there's..." his eyes swept over the street. It was chaotic, and it seemed like perhaps a cop car had accompanied an EMS vehicle... That probably meant more would be coming very soon. "I only see one car right now, but you probably already know there will be more soon..."
And then Hideki cursed, and the weight in his stomach suddenly seemed ten times heavier. "What is it?" he asked and when he didn't get an immediate response, he asked more urgently, "What's happening?" Of course, his question was soon answered, and though he didn't like to argue, he somehow felt more worried than usual about his former partner. "Fine, fine, but where are you going until things have died down?" He was already walking out the door and towards the stairwell. It was too bad these transmitters didn't also have locational capacities. "It could be hours..." And if Hideki was seriously injured, that would mean hours before he was tended to. Gendo didn't like that at all, and his tone of voice said as much.
