The Yamazaki Brothers
Ethan both loved spring and hated it at the same time. He loved how the weather got warmer, the flowers began to bloom, the trees began to grow leaves again, and of course festivals were more common. Because of all those things, people were more willing to go out and do exciting things. And when people did exciting things, it was a story to write on. Not like there never was a story to write on but in the winter, people tended to be more lethargic or how Ethan saw it as boring. The downside to spring was the inevitable hay fever that always decided to plague the young journalist. Of course, that never stopped Ethan from doing his job. No. He'd only take sick days when his boss made him go home.
Tonight was the festival and Ethan had the duty to write a story on it. Of course, he figured the best way was to observe it and enjoy it like any normal citizen. He liked these sorts of things. There was always a lot going on. It was also a tradition. He could remember such festivals going all the way back as far as he could remember. It had to bed spent at least with one family member. Today, he asked his big brother Aaron to accompany him around.
He spent the time at the parade acting like he somehow reverted back to an 8 year old, pointing out awesome floats in his opinion. He'd make comments on the decorations and sometimes use some bit of wording he thought sounded rather clever, took out his notebook and scribbled it down to use later. Yes, he was a bit arrogant on his use of words. He'd try to get his brother enthusiastic about it all too. Ethan just was the perpetual little brother.
Things seemed to be interrupted by the sound of sirens. That sound was music to the journalist's ears. What could that mean? Did a fight break out? Someone found murdered? Or was a simple accident? Either or, it was possible reporter gold and Ethan had to get as close as he could to at least understand what was going on. He'd be the first reporter on the scene! Imagine what sort of story it could possibly turn into.
He turned to his older brother and declared, "Aaron! Come on! Let's check it out! You could flash your badge to get through and I can follow right behind you to get a closer look." He said it very casually like this idea wasn't ethically wrong. He started in the direction of the sirens and hoped his brother would follow behind him.
